*This function is available only for THETA Z1 and X.
Please update THETA Z1 to firmware v3.10.2 or later and X to firmware v2.30.0 or later.
This function is designed to keep the version of THETA linked to RICOH360 updated to the latest firmware.
The automatic firmware update can be turned on/off and the time to update can be set in the web application. The time zone set on the camera itself will be applied as the time zone.
For THETA cameras with automatic firmware updates set to ON, automatic firmware updates will be triggered when the following conditions are met
- A newer firmware version than the one already installed on the THETA has been released.
- At the set automatic update time,
- The THETA is turned on in a Wi-Fi environment registered for client mode connection.
- Turn on the client mode of the THETA main unit (instructions for turning on client mode are provided at the bottom of this page).
Procedure for setting the automatic firmware update time
- Log in to the RICOH360
- Click on your user name in the upper right corner of the screen and click on Admin Console in the drop-down list
- Click the team name in the menu on the left side of the screen and select the team whose THETA you wish to manage from the drop-down list
- Click on THETA Management in the menu
- Turn the toggle in the "Auto Update" column of the THETA Z1 or X from OFF to ON
The default setting for the automatic update time when turned ON is "Custom: 00:00-00:00". If the start and end times are set to the same time, automatic updates will be activated when the aforementioned update activation conditions are met at exactly the set time.
To allow a wide range of automatic update times, set a start time and an end time; - Click Custom to the right of the toggles to open the dialog box for setting the automatic update time.
- Click on the Start time and End time, select the respective time, and click OK.
- Click Save
Click Reset Custom Settings to set "Nighttime: 22:00 to 7:00" and the right side of the toggle will change to Night.
Turning on the client mode
THETA X
- Swipe the RICOH THETA X display from top to bottom
- Tap Client Mode
- Tap the toggle to on
When client mode is on, will appear at the top of the screen.
THETA Z1
- Press the wireless button on the side of the RICOH THETA Z1 to switch the wireless LAN function to client mode.
When client mode is on, is displayed on the display panel
